Activity Coordinator - 

We're hiring an Activity Coordinator! Join us to plan and lead creative activities that promote well-being and community involvement. Flexible hours (20 hrs/week) on a 2-year contract. You'll work closely with volunteers, organise events, and support our mission to engage all age groups. If you're passionate about making a difference, apply today!

Salary: £14.91 per hour

Caretaker - 

We're looking for a reliable and dedicated Caretaker to help maintain our Centre. This part-time role (15hrs/week) is essential to keeping our centre clean, safe, and welcoming. You’ll handle cleaning, minor repairs, and event setup. If you have a keen eye for detail and enjoy working in a community setting, we’d love to hear from you!

Location: The Bolton Woods Centre, BD2 1BD
Salary: £11.44/hour
Contract: Fixed-term, 2 years

Join our dedicated team at The Bolton Woods Centre and help us deliver impactful youth and elderly sessions, run our vibrant café, and maintain our beautiful garden!

 

About Us:

Bolton Woods Centre is a community hub that offers a variety of programs and activities designed to enrich the lives of local residents. From educational workshops to recreational events, we strive to create a welcoming space for everyone. Our brand new café area and garden are popular spots where members of the community can relax, socialise, and enjoy delicious refreshments.

 

Volunteer Roles:

 

Youth and Elderly Session Assistants:

Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of engaging activities for youth and elderly groups.

  • Assist staff with setup and cleanup of session materials.

  • Engage with participants, ensuring they have a positive experience.

  • Help with administrative tasks related to session planning and execution.

Skills Needed:

  • Friendly and approachable demeanour.

  • Good organisational skills.

  • Ability to work well with people of all ages.

  • Enthusiasm for community engagement and learning.

 

 

Café Volunteers:

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and serve customers with a smile.

  • Prepare and serve a range of food and warm drinks.

  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the café area.

  • Assist with stock management and restocking supplies.

Skills Needed:

  • Customer service skills.

  • Ability to handle cash transactions (training provided).

  • Basic food preparation skills (training provided).

  • Attention to detail and cleanliness.

 

Garden Volunteers:

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the maintenance of our community garden.

  • Keep lawn nice and tidy.

  • Clear of any litter.

  • Plant, water and weed garden plants.

  • Help organise gardening workshops and events.

Skills Needed:

  • A love for gardening and the outdoors.

  • Basic knowledge of plant care (training provided).

  • Physical ability to perform gardening tasks.

  • Enthusiasm for environmental sustainability and education.
